In conjunction with the National Weather Service Flagstaff Office, the Yavapai County Emergency Management Office of Emergency Management (YCOEM) will conduct county-wide testing of the Wireless Emergency Warning (WEA) and Emergency Warning System (EAS) at 11am on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
These alerts can help you send important messages to your mobile phone, TV or radio about bad weather, emergencies, missing children, and more. The goal of this test is to ensure that the system works well and is safe and aware of Yabapai County residents. All residents with NOAA Weather Radio are encouraged to adjust to the frequency of 162.525 Megahertz (MHZ) for the weekly NOAA Weather Radio and EAS test at 11:00am on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
The test lasts about 30 minutes. During the test, the phone will vibrate with a special sound, like an amber alert. Only residents who turn on test alerts on their mobile devices will receive this test message.
The test message looks like this:
“Yavapai County Emergency Management: This is a test of the Yavapai County wireless emergency alert system at 11am on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 (actual emergency). This system will be used to share potential measures for life-saving measures. This is a test. Visit yavapaiready.gov.”
