‘You Are Inhuman!’: Piers Morgan, Streamer Get Into Heated Exchange Over ‘Repulsive’ Trump Assassination Comments

British journalist Piers Morgan and popular streamer and YouTuber Destiny exchanged harsh words on Tuesday over the streamer's comments about the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

Destiny appeared on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” to discuss her comments following the attack on Trump and his supporters at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday. As the panel began to discuss Destiny's position, Morgan played a clip of the streamer calling Trump and the former volunteer fire captain who was shot and killed “fuck you,” adding that she would “sneer” if her conservative supporters were “blowed away.” (Related story: “Russia Tactics”: Aide to Democratic megadonor reportedly suggested shooting at Trump rally may have been “staged.”)

“I mean, I have to say I found it disgusting, Destiny,” Morgan said.

“I ask everyone: There's no room for hand-clapping. I'm not going to be a part of this anymore. Conservatives can say whatever they want. They can say whatever conspiracy theories they want. They can do whatever they want. And liberals are going to say, 'Oh my goodness, this is so tragic.' Absolutely not.”

Morgan then interjected to explain his position, saying he was “not a conservative” and criticising Destiny's “joviality” attitude.

clock:

“You are inhuman. You are the kind of person who almost seems to be happy that a young firefighter with a family was shot and killed while protecting his wife and child, that he deserved this because he went to a President Trump rally, a man who not long ago served four years, maybe even another, of our president. You almost seem to be happy about this, Destiny, and frankly, I'm sorry that makes you a despicable person,” Morgan said.

But Destiny pushed back against the show's host's accusation that conservatives had once mocked an attack on California Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi's husband, accusing conservatives of “getting heated with rhetoric.”

“Why should anyone on the right listen to you preach and tell you how they should behave? And by the way, your mocking of Nancy Pelosi's husband when he was attacked by an intruder with a hammer was vile, wasn't it?” Morgan continued.

“I see despicable behavior on all sides and am happy to call it out when I see it, but you want to portray yourself as a great bearer of decency who sees right-wing outrages time and time again and is outraged by this abhorrent inhumanity,” Morgan said. “Yet since the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, you've repeated that exact same inhumanity time and time again, telling a firefighter who was killed for attending a rally for someone you wanted to vote for, 'Kill him.'”

As the two continued their discussion, Destiny refused to condemn the violence against Trump, and Morgan questioned “why on earth” they would listen to his position.

Trump and his supporters were attacked by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who fired multiple bullets, grazing the former president above his right ear. The attack ultimately left 50-year-old Corey Comperatore dead and two others injured: 57-year-old David Duch and 74-year-old James Copenhaver.
