‘You Can’t Have The Fox Guarding The Henhouse’: Freedom Caucus Chair Opposes Special Counsel In Biden Probe

Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Scott Perry said Friday he would oppose the appointment of a special counsel to investigate bribery allegations involving President Joe Biden.

“You can’t let a fox guard a chicken coop,” House Liberties Chairman Perry told Fox Business host Larry Kudrow. “The FBI, which is part of the Department of Justice, as you said, has had this problem since 2016. We shouldn’t be surprised that they haven’t done anything about it. They’re part of the problem here. We can’t give them the keys to this thing.”

“Not only has the past two years been an impregnable case for a special counsel, but Garland has demonstrated the need for a special counsel,” Turley told Fox News host Laura Ingraham. “Every decision he made went against giving transparency and taking action against these allegations.

The Justice Department announced on June 20 that Mr. Biden pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts, but that the felony of making false statements on the documents he filled out when purchasing firearms would be addressed through a pretrial diversion program.
