A Yuma residents who are part of the Arizona Medicaid program told Gov. Katie Hobbs when they visited Sunset Health Clinic in Yuma last week.
Gov. Hobbes’ visit on Friday afternoon came the day after meeting hospital system officials from across the state in Phoenix. Hobbs predicted that up to a quarter of the nearly two million Arizonans currently registered in Arizona’s healthcare cost containment system could lose compensation from the state’s Medicaid plan.
This comes as Congressional Republicans discuss Trump’s so-called “big beautiful bill.”
Hobbs heard from sundown patients and officials, including CEO Jonathan Leonard. Everyone emphasized the need for AHCCC, especially in rural communities like Yuma.
While in Yuma, Gov. Hobbs also met downtown’s Yuma County Democratic leaders.
