Arizona Senator Kelly and Cinema helped secure funding for the local Arizona community
(KYMA, KECY) – Senators Mark Kelly and Kirsten Cinema have secured a massive investment of over $130 million for all 15 Arizona counties.
This investment will help support law enforcement, access to healthcare, educational resources, tribal and town water infrastructure, roads, bridges and more. According to the press release.
“After months of work with mayors, law enforcement and local leaders, these new investments will go directly to communities in Arizona. “Whether it’s improving high-speed internet access in some parts of the country or improving water infrastructure during this drought, these projects will improve the lives of people across the state,” said Senator Kelly.
Yuma Mayor Doug Nichols said, “We are grateful to Senators Cinema and Senator Kelly for their continued support and investment in the revitalization of downtown Yuma.
“As our community grows and expands, Arizona Western College stands poised to support talent development through critical support services and programs, along with partners in industry and academia. We are honored to partner with and secure this funding for Yuma and La Paz counties.AWC is one of 10 community college districts in the state positioned to develop the workforce. These funds, through our community colleges, will help thousands of local Arizonans access high-paying, advanced education. It provides an opportunity to prepare for jobs that require skills,” said Dr. Daniel Corr, president of Arizona Western College.
Welton, Arizona will receive $44,000 for police station equipment and $500,000 for irrigation and drainage districts.
Arizona Western College will receive $1 million to train electrical engineers and $1,724,000 to train veterans.
MCAS Yuma will receive $5,000,000 for its water treatment plant.
San Luis, Arizona will receive $1,200,000 for Cesar Chavez Boulevard Design.
Meanwhile, Yuma, Arizona will receive $2,500,000 for the redevelopment of Downtown Yuma.
