PHOENIX — Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot is “cautiously optimistic” about immigration reform just after a bipartisan group of U.S. senators led by Kirsten Cinema visited the border city in southern Arizona on Tuesday. Said there was.

“‘We need to get rid of their personal and political ideologies, return to public safety, and strengthen the rule of law,'” Wilmot told the delegation.
“I know you don’t like the immigration system, but until then it has to be enforced and you can change it. Once you change it, we’ll handle it.”
Cinema led a group of six Arizona senators and various politicians to address the impact of the border and immigration crisis on neighboring communities.
She said that when they returned to Washington, “we will find ways to increase the support we are offering to our men and women who provide this border patrol, get them back to their jobs, and help them find their jobs.” We’re going to reinvent the way we work.
