Yuma Election Day Includes Three City Issues

Yuma voters will decide on one issue and one seat on the Yuma City Council and may elect a municipal court judge in the Nov. 5 general election.

The remaining candidates for City Council are Martin Garcia and Mark Martinez. One write-in candidate for judge, Greg Counts, is eligible for this election. Proposition 425, regarding Mayor and City Council compensation, is one of many issues and races for voters to consider.

As we approach Election Day, early ballots must be dropped off in person at one of six secure drop boxes in Yuma County to be counted in a timely manner, rather than by mail. These drop-off locations include:

  • Yuma County Recorder’s Office, 102 S. Main St.
  • Yuma County Central Library, 2951 S. 21st Drive.
  • Yuma County Library branches are located in Foothills, San Luis, Somerton, and Welton.

Early voting is available until 7:00 PM on Election Day at the polling locations listed below.

Registered voters can also vote early in person at the Yuma County Recorder’s Office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 1.

Voting on election day

Yuma County uses nine voting centers that are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Voters registered with the city can vote in person at any of these vote centers.

  • Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Neighborhood Center, 300 S. 13th Ave.
  • Yuma Book Library, 2951 S. 21st Drive.
  • Yuma Civic Center, 1440 W. Desert Hills Drive.
  • Arizona Western College Shawning Conference Center, 2020 S. Avenue 8E.
  • St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 11545 E. 40th St.
  • AWC Welton Manufacturing Learning Center, 28851 County 12th St., Welton.
  • Somerton Community Center, 805 W. Main Street, Somerton.
  • San Luis Medical Mall, 151 S. Oak Ave., San Luis.
  • San Luis Library, 1075 N. 6th Ave., San Luis.
