Backlash Against Alabama Democrats Over Child Abuse Comments
This week, Alabama Democrats faced criticism after they told supporters of Donald Trump to refrain from speaking about a disturbing child abuse case uncovered in Bibb County.
Bibb County Sheriff Jody Wade elaborated on the shocking results of a month-long investigation into a child trafficking ring, claiming it has resulted in the deaths of at least 15 children.
Former Miss America and Democratic candidate Mallory Hagan responded on TikTok to the grim news by challenging Trump supporters to “squeal” about the situation.
“I’m saying things that might upset a lot of folks. If that’s making you angry, maybe you should introspect about it,” Hagan remarked.
She added, “If you still support Donald Trump, I honestly don’t want to hear your comments about what’s happening to these kids in Bibb County. If you live in Alabama and voted for him, please, just stay quiet.”
Hagan previously lost to Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks) in 2018 and later ran against Alabama House Rep. Phillip Riggsby (R-Huntsville) in 2022 but was unsuccessful there too.
“How can you find compassion to advocate for the death penalty against those who commit horrific crimes? If you’re still backing Donald Trump, then maybe you should keep quiet about child sexual abuse,” she stated.
In the meantime, the children have been removed from their homes and are now under the care of the Alabama Department of Human Resources, receiving necessary medical, emotional, and psychological support.
Sheriff Wade emphasized the significance of protecting the children’s identities to help minimize their trauma during this troubling time.
