Proposal submitted by the city
Full name of the City of Sedona Council: Resolution proposing an extension of the City of Sedona’s Alternate Spending Limits (Home Rule Option). DESCRIPTIVE TITLE: Pursuant to the Arizona Constitution, this proposal would continue the City of Sedona’s Alternate Spending Limits (Home Rule Option) for the next four years. Each year, after a public hearing, the City Council determines the amount of alternative spending limits (Home Rule Options) that will replace state-imposed spending limits. A “Yes” vote will have the effect of extending the City of Sedona’s Alternate Spending Limit (Home Rule Option). A “NO” vote shall have the effect of requiring the City of Sedona not to allow the City of Sedona to extend alternative spending limits (the Home Rule Option) and to limit City spending by state-imposed spending limits. .

Despite intensive efforts by a handful of residents in 2018 and 2022 to end home rule, the passage from election to election has been relatively consistent.
