Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ campaign condemned Democrats’ efforts to discontinue coal-fired pizza over environmental concerns, making a pizza-themed Thursday night after a visit to a New York City pizzeria. The Daily Caller was the first to learn that they were planning to launch a new product.
DeSantis stopped by Grimaldi’s in New York City earlier in the day and appeared on Fox News Thursday night to discuss a possible coal-fired pizza ban and the 2024 presidential campaign. The caller learned for the first time that the DeSantis campaign was releasing a new T-shirt that read, “Biden… Once in a lifetime chance, everyone knows the rules!” Referring to Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy’s viral pizza video rating, he says, “Everyone knows the rules once they’ve taken a bite.”
In a TV appearance, DeSantis denounced efforts by the left to crack down on wood- and coal-burning stoves and ovens, forcing them to install expensive filters in order to serve pizza. Many pizza makers are working hard on this. (Related: Exclusive: DeSantis Campaign Releases Preview Video of Border Security Policy Announcement)
“When they chased gas stoves in Florida, we just made gas stoves tax-free in Florida. So if New York City needs Florida to come, we’re going to roll the red carpet for you guys,” DeSantis told Fox News. (Related: Exclusive: DeSantis’ Never Back Down PAC unveils new ad “Punching Back”)
