PHOENIX — The latest storm system leaves Arizona, leaving behind cold air.
Temperatures across the valley will drop into the 40s overnight, and widespread freezing is expected in the highlands.
Maricopa County has issued a burn ban due to weak winds and lingering pollution throughout the valley. This means that it is prohibited to burn wood in fireplaces or wood stoves overnight.
The weather forecast will remain dry as high pressure moves in again heading into the weekend.
Temperatures in the valley will rise into the mid to upper 70s on Saturday and Sunday and will remain there early next week.
A storm will approach from the Pacific Ocean by the middle of next week. Clouds will increase and the temperature will begin to drop.
The statewide forecast also calls for another round of rain and snow starting Wednesday and continuing through Thursday and Friday.
This storm could cause issues for holiday travel ahead of Christmas, so stay tuned for updates as we get closer.
