The Maricopa County Human Services Department is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the National Association of Counties (NACo) to participate in the prestigious 2023 C4CS – Counties for Career Success program. This recognition highlights Maricopa County's commitment to providing residents with the best opportunities for career advancement and workforce development.
The C4CS program, established by NACo, recognizes and supports counties across the country that excel in creating environments conducive to career success. Maricopa County was selected as one of only a few counties nationwide to participate in this outstanding initiative.
Maricopa County District 4 Board of Supervisors Chairman Clint Hickman expressed his gratitude for this accomplishment. “We are proud and honored that our efforts to develop meaningful career opportunities for our employees in Maricopa County have been recognized on a national level,” said Chairman Hickman. “An investment in career development and success is an investment in our residents. We believe in ensuring a continued pipeline of skilled workers to our economy and to employers in our communities.”
The Maricopa County Human Services Department (HSD) provides a variety of career development services to county residents, including workforce development, job training, and employment opportunities. Most recently, HSD also provided support services to help displaced workers find new jobs after mass layoffs affected her IT workforce in the East Valley. Her eight counties from across the country were selected for this initiative, which recognizes the critical role counties play in streamlining pathways to higher education and employment.
NACo's C4CS annual program provides participating counties with opportunities to network with peers, share best practices, participate in discussions with national subject matter experts, visit successful programs in peer communities, and pursue career development. We offer you the opportunity to receive valuable resources to enhance your efforts.
Other counties selected for the 2023-2024 C4CS cohort are:
- Douglas County, Nebraska
- Hamilton County, Tennessee
- Honolulu, Hawaii
- Howard County, Maryland
