Dale Strong at Trump trial: ‘It’s election interference at a level never seen before’

Rep. Dale Strong (R-Monrovia) was one of several guests who stood with former President Donald Trump outside the New York City courthouse on Tuesday.

The defense in President Trump's “hush money” trial rested on Tuesday, with the former president Not taking the witness standJurors are scheduled to begin deliberations the Wednesday after Memorial Day.

“I wanted to come out here and see for myself so that ordinary people in this country can understand what's going on. This is election interference on a level we've never seen before,” Strong said outside the courthouse. “We're preventing the candidate who leads the Republican Party from campaigning across this country.”

Strong argued that Trump would rather talk about the issues than focus on the prosecution.

“He wants to talk about inflation,” he said. “He wants to talk about fuel prices across this country. He wants to talk about why interest rates for people who want to build a home are 6 to 7 percent and people can't achieve their dreams. Let me be clear: This is election interference of the highest order, designed to stop this candidate from speaking his case across the country, but I'm telling you right now, the American people see through it.”

Also present with the congressman were Donald Trump Jr., Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi and former Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker.

“I am proud to stand with President Trump today,” Strong said on Facebook. “The American people know this trial is about politics, not about justice. This is just another step in Biden's plan to attack and hurt President Trump. Because Democrats cannot win a fair and honest election, they are seeking to weaponize our judicial system to do what they cannot do at the ballot box.”
