Senator Mike Lee of Utah responded to President Joe Biden's plan to reform the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) through term limits for judges and enforceable ethics rules.
“This is a blatant authoritarian attempt by Joe Biden to violate the separation of powers and intimidate the judiciary,” Lee told the Daily Caller. (Related: Biden reportedly plans to support measures to 'limit' the Supreme Court)
“Because Biden knows the American people are rejecting his failed policies and seeking to replace Donald Trump, he has threatened unconstitutional power over the Supreme Court, posing a greater threat to norms and the rule of law than any president in modern times,” he continued.

“I need your help on the Supreme Court, because I'm going to be announcing something very soon. I don't want to announce it prematurely, but I'm going to be announcing a major initiative to limit the power of the Supreme Court,” Biden reportedly said in a call with congressional progressives on Saturday. The Washington Post.
This follows recent Supreme Court decisions opposed by the Biden administration. Fisher v. United States, The Supreme Court ruled that the Department of Justice (DOJ) had overly broadly interpreted and abused the law in its pursuit of former President Donald Trump. Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense Council In a 6-3 decision, the court instructed the justice ministry to follow its interpretation when the language is unclear.
Lee praised the latter ruling's dismissal on Twitter.
The collapse of Chevron means it's time for Congress to re-learn how to write real laws.
