‘She’ll Be Seen As A B*tch’: Chris Cuomo Warns Kamala Harris Not To Be ‘Mean’ If She Wants To Beat Trump

NewsNation host Chris Cuomo on Thursday advised Vice President Kamala Harris not to be “mean” if she wants to beat former President Donald Trump in the next election.

In an interview published Wednesday, Willie Brown, the former mayor of San Francisco and Harris' ex-boyfriend, expressed concern that the vice president has become unpopular and is suffering from “Hillary syndrome,” a reference to former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's UnpopularCuomo said: Podcasts Harris outlined five things that must be done to defeat the former president, and the second is not to “be like Trump.” (RELATED: Kamala Harris doesn't give interviews in first week of presidential campaign)

“Don't be mean. Don't respond by doing the same. Women have to develop this talent in public and often in their private lives,” Cuomo said. “They can't play by the same rules as men. It's not a fair standard. If she gives Trump what he gives her, she will be considered a mean woman. People won't say it, but they will, especially as a brown woman. There is a lot of hostility there, a lot of prejudice, a lot of bigotry … explicit and implicit.”

Cuomo also told Harris not to become “Trump” when it came to her “slogans,” particularly one she frequently uses. line About “being freed from the burdens of the past.”

“You have to be careful with the slogans. She says, 'Focus on the future, not bound by the past, focus on the future, not bound by the past, focus on the future,' whatever that phrase is that she repeats three times every time, you have to stop,” he said. “Why? It's a good thing. It's still a cheesy, hackneyed approach, and voters who want to reject Trump don't want his left-wing knockoff… someone who's only an inch deep, playing the same messaging game. They don't want that. Don't be that person.”

In June, Governor Cuomo expressed concern that Vice President Harris could assume the presidency if Biden was re-elected and did not complete his term, suggesting that Harris could be a hindrance to the president's reelection because voters might be hesitant to support Biden.

“Aside from Biden's health, is Harris his biggest weakness? People will say, 'You know, Harris? I'm not voting for Biden because of her. I don't want Harris as president,'” he asked Democratic strategist James Carville.

Carville on Thursday urged Harris to tell the “progressive left” to “fuck off” because they are ruining her campaign.
