Selena Gomez was trying to inspire her kids by sharing stories about her own life experiences, but it seems she missed the bigger picture.
A video was posted to social media showing Gomez responding to the backlash, in which she sat down at a Women in Film dinner and launched into a rant about the criticism she'd recently received. She attempted to explain her position and teach a lesson to the young girl sitting next to her, but failed spectacularly when she began yelling the F-word.

Gomez recently revealed that she's unable to conceive due to health issues, but some fans didn't react to the confession the way they might have hoped.
She sat at the dinner table and spoke to the other women and to the girl sitting very close to her.
“I truly believe there's power in showing vulnerability and letting people know when you need help or want help,” Gomez said, her voice blaming.
“There's no shame in that. So you said I can't have children, you said I'm bipolar…fuck you!” she told her critics.
Not only did she sit right next to a kid around 8-10 years old and utter the F-word, but she also tried to portray herself as some kind of inspiring hero by example.
“I just want to be an advocate for women, so I share and I love being honest because everyone's going through something,” Gomez said.
The famous singer acted like a motherly figure, lovingly stroking the side of the little girl's face as she continued her “inspirational message to young people.”
“I don't have it all together. I am me and that's all I am. So don't let anybody tell you that you're not a good person. That you're kind and that you treat people with respect…” Gomez rambled.
“Don't mind anyone who says you're a victim, you're a survivor!” (RELATED: Selena Gomez turns boyfriend's cake into NSFW moment)
Thankfully, the girl didn't seem to be paying any attention to Gomez at all, and seemed far more interested in the food than the conversation itself, so perhaps this crisis was averted.
