‘God Spared My Life For A Reason’: Donald Trump Speaks After Winning 2024 Election

President-elect Donald Trump addressed an excited crowd at Mar-a-Lago early Wednesday morning after defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

Shortly after 2 a.m., President Trump took to the stage to his classic entrance song, “God Bless The USA,” and patriotic chants filled the venue. The soon-to-be incumbent Republican president, who has won most of the battleground states, pointed to the love that oozed from the crowd. He reiterated his promise to help the country repair the damage the Biden-Harris administration has caused.

“This was a movement like no one had ever seen before, and frankly I believe it was the greatest political movement in history,” Trump said. “There has never been anything like this in this country, and perhaps in the world. Going forward, this will take on a new level of importance as we help the country recover.”

President Trump thanked voters for electing him the 47th and 45th presidents for two non-consecutive terms, a feat surpassed by former Grover Cleveland in 1893. It was something a president had only achieved once before.

He praised the “unprecedented and powerful mandate” Republicans achieved by winning a majority in the Senate.

President Trump welcomed Vice President-elect J.D. Vance to the stage in “full of energy” and asked him to say a few words. Mr. Vance called their victory “the greatest political reversal in the history of the United States” and thanked Mr. Trump for his confidence.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO Dana White and Trump campaign senior adviser Chris Lacivita also gave brief remarks. President Trump expressed gratitude to his family and other allies, including billionaire Elon Musk and former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“Many people told me that God saved my life for a reason,” President Trump said at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, recalling the near-fatal assassination attempt. ” he said.

President Trump said he would govern by a simple motto: “Promises made, promises kept.”
