The Trump administration plans to deport illegal immigrants who committed “terrorist threats” almost a year after border officials arrested him.
Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) secured an order to deport the judge of Lebanese immigrant Baselbassel Ebabadi before President Donald Trump took office, New York Post reported. Ebbadi told federal agents that he was part of the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah and that he came to the US “trying to make bombs” when he was first arrested in March 2024 when the Biden administration dealt with a record number of illegal immigrants that pose a potential national security threat.
Ebbadi was sentenced to five months in April 2024 for illegally crossing the border, but according to the post office, Ice did not obtain a final deportation order in court until January 13th.
Arrested, Ebadi told border agents a seemingly contradictory story that he left Hezbollah because an Iran-sponsored group of Muslims trained him. – However, he came to America to make an explosive device. The interrogator determined that he had “a terrorist threat to personnel” during the course of the discussion. The New York Post reported.
Ice’s media office did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation. ICE’s inmate database shows Ebbadi was in custody in El Paso, Texas as of Wednesday.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Prisoner Database shows Basel Ebbadi, who was linked to Hezbollah, detention in El Paso, Texas, on March 12, 2025.
Ebbadi’s arrest comes after Hezbollah and other groups warned in October that operatives could be sent across the tropical border to threaten the United States in response to the Israel-Hamas War. The number of terrorist watchlist immigrant records was illegally captured by former President Joe Biden’s tolerant border policy, bringing at least 382 people together. In one case, the agent unconsciously freed Al Shabaab terrorists who had roamed the US for ten months before being arrested again.
Trump officials prioritize immigrant deporters with the most severe criminal ties in their first few weeks of office. Ice caught at least two terrorists in its first week.
