Comedian Bill Maher said Friday that “no one is buying” Democrats' claims that President Joe Biden is fit to serve a second term.
Speaking on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Maher urged Biden to stop attacking critics who think he is “too old to be president.”
“Rather than trying to refute all the 'too old to be president' criticisms, Joe has to accept them,” Maher said. “Please stop saying, 'I'm sharper than before.' No one's going to buy that.”

“You're so old, you bad kid with a drug problem, you're 54.”

Maher repeatedly urged Biden not to “deny the age issue” and told Biden to “lean into it” and “eat your soup.” He also joked about Hunter Biden, noting that the president is “old enough to be a bad kid with a drug problem at 54.”
“Just admit it. Say, 'Yes, I'm terrible with names and walk like a toddler in diapers.' But I believe in democracy,” Maher said.
Maher then explained that Biden's age denial is not a “new” issue for Democrats. He said Democrats often allow Republicans to “intimidate” them into becoming “defensive” about who they really are. “The Joe issue is not a new issue for Democrats,” Maher said. “It’s not specifically about age, but the idea that the opposition can intimidate you into defending who you really are.”
“Well, we've seen it before,” the comedian continued. “John Kerry pretends to be a duck hunter and Hillary has hot sauce in her purse. Americans hate that.”
“Be yourself,” Maher said. “And Joe, you're getting older yourself.”
Biden has come under intense scrutiny over his mental health following the release of Special Counsel Robert Hur's report. The special counsel declined to bring charges against the president because he would likely appear before a jury as an “elderly man with a poor memory.”
