Months after he was caught calling President Donald Trump’s supporters “garbage,” former President Joe Biden said in a speech Tuesday that “everyone deserves to be treated with dignity.”
Biden delivery His first official duties since taking office on Tuesday attacked Trump-era policies, spurred national unity and avoided mention of 2024 exits. During his speech, Biden said all Americans, including the lives of more than 60 million people with disabilities, deserve to be treated with the utmost respect. Biden gave a speech in Chicago while attending a national conference of disability advocates, counselors and representatives.
“It’s about dignity. Simple dignity. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity. No matter their economic system, no matter who they are, no matter who they are, no matter their standards,” Biden said.
Biden said dignity is important across all spectrums of American life, including workplaces, schools, and community.

“To make sure that more than 60 million Americans with disabilities are treated with dignity is what we treat as Americans. That’s what it is. I mean that. It means dignity in every corner of work, in school, in our community, in our American life,” Biden said. “ADA-like laws [Americans with Disabilities Act] You need supporters like you. You are the one who continues to do that. God loves you. ”
In October, Biden responded to the comedian’s remarks at a Trump rally, calling Trump supporters “trash” during a Trump Latino Zoom call. This isn’t the first time Biden has publicly laughed at someone. In 2020, he called New Hampshire students “pony soldiers face to face with dogs” after asking pointy questions about his campaign performance.
