Chris Cuomo Questions Whether Trump Will Give RFK Jr. ‘A Real Position’ If He Is Elected

On his “PBD Podcast” on Thursday, NewsNation host Chris Cuomo questioned whether former President Donald Trump would give independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a “real spot” if he wins a second term this November.

Kennedy, who stopped campaigning in several states last week, has since voiced his support for the former president and vowed to “actively” campaign for Trump. There has been speculation that Kennedy could play a role in Trump's second term, but Cuomo shot down that idea, saying he didn't believe Kennedy could “get through Congress” even if he was “indeed appointed.” (RELATED: RFK Jr. loses Secret Service protection, officials confirm)

“I don't know where Bobby's confidence is coming from that he's going to give Trump a real position. There are two reasons. One, I think it's something that was said when Trump first ran, that he was going to appoint Bobby, and he didn't. The second reason is, if it's a real appointment, like an agency-level appointment, I don't know if Bobby could get through the Legislature,” Cuomo said.

“Remember, they are being advised and consented. If that is the real position. Now you just [him] “So you're a health ombudsman or something,” Cuomo continued, “an emperor or something. That means you don't have to be vetted. But if you have to be vetted, that could become a real political war.”

During the period Interview Kennedy said on Fox News on Sunday that he had “never made any formal commitment” to a potential role in the Trump administration, adding that he had “just made a general commitment to work collaboratively.”

Kennedy had planned to withdraw from the ballot in 10 key battleground states, but Michigan and Wisconsin have so far rejected his requests, saying his name cannot be removed from the ballot.
