“Joe Biden’s job as president. Approved, only 36%, so-so. Given the partisanship and polarization at this point, it’s really impossible to get much lower than that.” Enten said. “Disapproval rating, 64%, wow, well over 60%… Let’s look back at history. Was the successor the same party? Net approval rating before the election.”
“Look at when Harry Truman’s online approval rating was 52%. Was his successor a Democrat? No. Lyndon Baines Johnson’s successor in 1968 was a Democrat. What about? No, of course Richard Nixon won that election,” he added. “George W. Bush’s successor in 2008 was [Republican]?No. Could Joe Biden’s successor actually be a Democrat?? Can Kamala Harris overcome Joe Biden’s net negative approval rating? Time will tell, but history isn’t so kind, folks. ”
New York Times/Siena College, the last national university public opinion poll Results for the 2024 election cycle, released by the media on Friday, show that former President Donald Trump and Harris have the same approval rating at 48%, a change from the previous approval rating. public opinion poll A paper released on October 8 found that the vice president leads Trump nationally, 49% to 46%.
“The fact that the polls are so close, that Donald Trump has a legitimate chance of winning the popular vote, means that many people, including those in my work, believe that Donald Trump is the president. I don’t think we really thought that would happen when we won the election.”The last time Trump was running,” Enten said early Friday. “He has the potential to make history, not just for Donald Trump, but for Republican candidates as well.”
Harris currently trails the former president slightly in all seven battleground states. According to RealClearPolling average.
