Kochise County officials have announced the results of the special election that took place on July 15, 2025, confirming the integrity of the voting process. During a special meeting on July 24, the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the results provided by the Kochise County Election Bureau.
The meeting commenced with a roll call, identifying supervisors Crosby and Gomez, while supervisor Antonoi participated remotely through Microsoft Teams. The primary agenda focused on reviewing the election results, a crucial step in the electoral process.
Election officials presented a comprehensive overview, noting that Arizona had previously validated the logical integrity of voting machinery, achieving a perfect score. On Election Day, three voting centers in Douglas, Bisbee, and Palominas operated efficiently, opening their doors at 6 a.m. and closing at 7 p.m. Early voting results were uploaded shortly after polls closed, with final results released by the morning of July 21.
A hand count audit conducted on July 16 confirmed the results’ accuracy, with a team of poll workers verifying votes from selected districts. This audit concluded with a 100% accuracy rate, bolstering public confidence in the election’s legitimacy.
Following the presentation, director Gomez commended the election department’s efforts, recognizing the obstacles overcome and the collaboration that contributed to the successful elections. The board also explored potential enhancements for upcoming elections, such as ensuring candidates familiarize themselves with the voter list and correctly affirm their names.
This meeting emphasized crucial steps in the election process within Kochise County, underscoring the importance of transparency and accountability in local governance. As the community moves forward, this successful canvassing of results sets a positive precedent for future elections.
