Coconino County to begin offering COVID-19 vaccines for kids 6 months and older

Coconino County health officials plan to start immunizing infants against COVID-19 starting Wednesday.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, have approved the Moderna and Pfizer-Biontech vaccines for children 6 months and older.

CDC recommends that children ages 6 months to 5 years receive two doses of Moderna vaccine four weeks apart. Pfizer’s vaccine is recommended for her 3 doses from age 6 months to her age 4.

The Coconino County Health and Human Services COVID-19 clinic will be offering both vaccines free of charge on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from noon to 4:30.
