“There are a lot of people who want Biden to stay. I just want to keep pointing out, there's still grassroots love for Joe Biden, not everyone agrees. But today is a terrible day. If you take a step back and look at this situation, you see strengths and weaknesses. Bullets didn't stop Trump, but a virus stopped Biden,” Jones said. “The nominee of this party is [Republicans] “They're being played. Biden is being played by his own party. Democrats are splitting apart. Republicans are uniting. That's what's happening. And at some point, this party has to face up to that reality.”

The president was scheduled to appear on stage Wednesday at a Las Vegas conference of Latino civil rights group UnidosUS, CNN reported. reportBut while speaking to attendees, Unidos US President and CEO Jeanette Murguía said Biden had called her to express his “deep disappointment” at not being able to attend.

“I was told about the meeting in Rehoboth, Delaware, it was a private meeting between the Senate Majority Leader and the president, and Chuck Schumer made a strong case that it would be better for Biden, it would be better for the Democratic Party and it would be better for the country if he dropped out of the race,” Kahl said Wednesday.
The ABC host also noted that House Majority Leader Hakeem Jeffries echoed the president's sentiments during a July 11 meeting. Confirmed But it was not clear what specifically was discussed during his meeting with the president's lawmakers on July 12.

Despite the urging, Biden has remained firm in his intention to run against former President Donald Trump, with a White House spokesman telling the Daily Caller News Foundation that Biden has no plans to change course and will remain a candidate in November.
