‘Fabricated Reality’: CNN’s Scott Jennings Accuses Biden, DNC Of Promoting ‘Lies’ About Trump Supporting Project 2025

CNN senior political commentator Scott Jennings on Tuesday accused President Joe Biden and others at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) of spreading false information about former President Donald Trump's support for Project 2025.

Speaking at the Democratic National Convention late Monday night, Biden suggested Project 2025 was part of Trump's agenda. addressThe former president and his campaign have denied that he endorses the document. Jennings noted on “CNN Newsroom” that Trump disavowed Project 2025 after host Abby Phillips said the DNC was trying to convince viewers that the former president was behind the document.(RELATED: Kamala plans to distance herself from Biden, days after KJP called them “critical partners”)

“There was Mallory McMorrow. [Michigan] “A state legislator who has become a social media star is going to publish a giant book called Project 2025 and make it the theme for every day of this convention,” Phillips said. “So there's a positive message of freedom, but they're also going to put that giant book, Project 2025, around Donald Trump's neck. And they have an audience that is obsessed with that book.”

“Yeah, and the audience is willing to believe a bunch of lies. I mean, Donald Trump denies this. He has no part in this,” Jennings said. “He has his own agenda. In every speech, there were attacks on Donald Trump that are not rooted in reality, but that's what this convention wants to hear. What struck me about this whole night, and especially Joe Biden's speech, was how much he lives in a made-up reality, and how much they want their supporters to live in a made-up reality, because in reality this is not Trump's agenda. They come out with these giant cartoon-like oversized props, but the whole purpose is to get the whole crowd to believe things that aren't true.”

McMorrow took to the stage at the Democratic National Convention on Monday holding a giant book with the cover of Project 2025, which he called “a plan to turn Donald Trump into a dictator.” According to To the Detroit Free Press.

Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation, told the Daily Caller in July that Project 2025 was meant to be a “restaurant menu” for the next Republican president to use to make policy and personnel choices. Trump has denied knowing about or being involved with Project 2025 and has even criticized some of the document's contents.

Project 2025 leader Paul Dans resigned from his position in July, as he had originally intended, the Caller reported.

“The report of Project 2025's demise is very welcome and should serve as a warning to any individuals or groups attempting to misrepresent their influence on President Trump and his campaign — it will not end well for you,” Trump campaign senior advisers Suzie Wiles and Chris LaCivita said in a statement.
