October 23rd, fox news broadcast an interview with former President Trump in which the Republican candidate told host Brian Kilmeade that he would “vote early” in the 2024 presidential election. A week later he changed his mind. Associated Pressreported that President Trump plans to vote in Palm Beach, Florida, on November 5th.
On November 1, an image of President Trump and first lady Melania Trump claiming to be voting in the 2024 election gained attention on Instagram. The photo shows the former president staring at his wife as she votes, a move that has previously been mocked as him trying to get a glimpse of her ballot. Although the photo is real, the post that posted it is misleading as it is from 8 years ago.
The Nov. 1 post consists of a legitimate screenshot taken by CNN of President Trump looking at first lady Melania Trump’s vote. The post’s caption says the Republican candidate “can’t even trust his wife,” but does not specify that the image is from 2016. the same video was shared From ABC News Comments on a Nov. 1 post that shared the resurfaced photo questioned President Trump’s ability to vote after he was convicted of 34 felonies related to falsifying records to keep secret his alleged affair with Stormy Daniels. Immediately after the conviction, the Associated Press reported Trump, who currently resides in Florida, can still legally vote in the election. He would not be allowed to do that while in prison under a New York state law that allows Florida to defer cases for felons convicted out of state.
