CBS News reported that Crooks appeared in BlackRock's 2022 ads, but Routh did not. A BlackRock spokesperson denied the validity of the claim in an email to PolitiFact.

In a 2023 self-published book, Routh allegedly told Iran that they were “free to assassinate Trump.” Associated PressAccording to the outlet, Routh had a lengthy criminal record prior to his involvement in Ukraine, having been arrested in 2002 on felony charges of “possessing explosives, detonation cords and detonators.”
X's post, which has been viewed more than 8 million times, claims that both Crooks and Rouse appeared in BlackRock ads. “Both of Trump's attackers [sic] An ad for BlackRock. Coincidence? [sic]The post's caption reads: “They post photos of Crooks and Routh side by side but provide no sources to back up their claims.” Similar repetitions The claims circulating on X included a video that appeared to be an advertisement for BlackRock featuring Mr Routh.
This claim is false. CBS News Crooks was reported to have appeared in a BlackRock advert for 2022, but Routh did not. video Routh does not appear in a BlackRock ad, but rather in footage of a pro-Ukraine rally that was shared on X by SAVE AZOV in May 2022, with Routh appearing at the 1:50 mark of the video. Similarly, Check Your Fact Trusted news coverage To back up my claim, the opposite is actually true. PolitiFact and Newsweek It said claims that Mr Routh appeared in BlackRock advertisements were false.
Additionally, a BlackRock spokesperson denied the allegations in an email to PolitiFact: “The video circulating on social media has been manipulated to falsely link Mr. Routh to BlackRock,” the spokesperson explained.
