“Pete Souza was the official chief photographer at the White House throughout Barack Obama's presidency. He took over 2 million photos of Obama as well as Reagan and Bush. Today Musk suspended his account for posting an AP photo. Fuck free speech,” one user wrote.

This claim is false. Had Souza been suspended, credible media would have reported it. Nobody has itA more extensive internet search also yielded no results.

“So I have deactivated my Twitter account. This was a gut decision made solely by me. I don't know yet if this is temporary or permanent,” Souza wrote.

“I had no idea that people on Twitter were reacting to Elon Musk deleting my account. How would I know? I don't have access to Twitter. I did get a few direct messages on Instagram about it, but I didn't pay it much attention,” Souza continued.
