FACT CHECK: No, X Post Criticizing Elon Musk Is Not From Donald Trump

According to the New York Times, Musk conducted an exclusive interview with the former president on X's “Spaces” feature, where they discussed a variety of topics including the economy and immigration. The outlet said the interview was marred by technical and audio issues. Musk said: X They claimed the problem was caused by a “DDoS attack.”

X's post purports to feature tweets from Trump harshly criticizing Musk for asking certain questions and for audio issues that occurred during the interview. “Tonight's X 'interview' is an insult to our flag,” the post reads in part. “I was asked a bunch of rude questions by 'Rocket Boy' Elon Musk that are worse than getting burned. The post did not come from Trump's official X account, and there are a number of issues with the format of the post, including the date “August 122, 2024” and the account name @realDonaldTramp. Citation This post is now suspended.

Trump's official account, @realDonaldTrump, has not posted any tweets criticizing or praising the Musk interview. Additionally, the most recent archive of the page, as of publication, shows: post It has never existed before.
