It is very likely the first time in history that each of the incumbent Mojave County supervisors has expressed their political intentions so far in advance of the upcoming election. After all, the August 2024 election is 18 months ahead.
Travis Lingenfelter is the last board member to signal in advance that he will file a letter of intent on Wednesday seeking another four-year term as Dist. 1 Mojave County Superintendent. The statement that Mr. Lingenfelter filed with the election office and was first posted on his personal Facebook page, he was dated May 5 when it was filed on April 5.
The elections office on Thursday said that oversight committee secretary Ginny Anderson had noticed the error and intended to bring it to Lingenfelter’s attention for possible correction.
Distance 3 Supervisor Buster Johnson and Dist. 5 Ron Gould submitted her intention to seek a re-election statement to the campaign office on Tuesday, her Hildy Angius, a Distance 2 supervisor, is running for Dist’s Arizona legislature. 30 and Dist. 4 Supervisor Jean Bishop intends to retire.
