Fmr Volunteer Firefighter Chief’s Widow Confirms Call With Trump After Snubbing Biden

The widow of slain former volunteer fire chief Corey Comperatore acknowledged having a phone call with former President Donald Trump after refusing to accept one from President Joe Biden, The New York Times reported.

“President Trump called me to express his condolences and was so kind and said he would continue to call in the coming days and weeks. I told him the same thing I have told everyone else – he left this earth a hero and God has received him. He did not die in vain that day,” Helen wrote.

Comperatore's sister, Kelly Comperatore Meader, confirmed to The New York Times that the family spoke with representatives from the Trump campaign on Monday night. The conversation between Comperatore's widow and the former president came after she revealed she had refused to speak with Biden. state “My husband is a staunch Republican and he probably didn't want to talk to me,” she told the New York Post.

The former volunteer fire chief was shot when he dove in on his daughters, ultimately saving their lives.
