Two Republican lawmakers said Wednesday that testimony from Internal Revenue Service whistleblowers revealed “serious problems” at the Department of Justice (DOJ).

“At today’s hearing, Democrats didn’t even question the credibility of Mr. Zeigler and Mr. Shapley because they knew it was utterly ridiculous. All they wanted was to focus on Donald Trump,” Donalds told Ingraham. “That’s all they did through this hearing, and it was terrible. There’s no talk of money that Hunter Biden, Jim Biden, Joe Biden were receiving from foreign countries. They didn’t allow an international pay-for-play scheme with the Biden family. They just wanted to focus on Donald Trump.”

“I also think that the fact that these two whistleblowers are coming forward today and all of a sudden there’s a new indictment against Donald Trump shows what’s going on with Jack Smith and Merrick Garland right now,” he continued. “The Justice Department has serious problems and will need House Republicans to find out.”

The Justice Department announced on June 20 that Mr. Biden pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts, while the felony charge of falsifying documents he filled out when purchasing firearms would be addressed through a pretrial diversion program following an investigation into Mr. Weiss. Republicans in Congress, Republican candidates for the 2024 presidential election, and legal experts alike criticized the deal, with some calling it a “sweet deal.”

“If ordinary Americans who don’t have the last name Biden defeat the government and miss out on more than $1 million in taxes, they’re going to serve jail time,” Smith said.
