Republicans on the House Oversight Committee and the House Judiciary Committee announced on Friday that they would step up their bids to consider a resolution and report holding Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress for failing to comply with a subpoena.
Hunter Biden arrived at the Capitol in mid-December to give a press conference, then ignored a subpoena from the House Oversight Committee and skipped a deposition in Congress.
“Our investigation has produced significant evidence suggesting that President Biden knew about, participated in, and benefited from his family's profiteering efforts in the Biden name. We were going to question Hunter Biden about this transcript of evidence, but he blatantly ignored two lawful subpoenas and stormed out of the Capitol building instead of appearing to testify as required. ,” said Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan.jointly said statement.
“Hunter Biden's willful refusal to comply with our subpoena constitutes a contempt of Congress and deserves to be referred to the appropriate U.S. attorney's office for prosecution.” We will not treat you like that,” Comer and Jordan added.
