Hunter Biden will be under oath on Friday about events related to a paternity battle over an out-of-wedlock daughter, according to court documents.
The eldest son has been embroiled in a paternity lawsuit since he asked his former mistress, Randen Roberts, to reduce child support, and has 4-year-old Navy officer Joan Roberts with her. The two had agreed to a child support settlement in 2020, but Biden reopened the lawsuit in 2022, claiming he didn’t have enough money.
Friday’s deposition will take place in newly announced Little Rock, Arkansas. document is shown. The eldest son is likely to be questioned on suspicion of refusing to submit the necessary documents for the paternity hearing.
The judge overseeing the case, Holly Meyer, threatened to impose up to six months in prison if she refused to appear in court for questioning. Meyer also ordered Biden to appear in court in Batesville, Arkansas, on July 10 to explain why he was not charged with contempt of court. Mr. Biden’s lawyers say his eldest son has already paid $750,000 in child support and cannot continue to pay $20,000 a month because of his financial situation. Roberts’ attorney, Clint Lancaster, said Biden was using “some of the most expensive lawyers on the planet” to fight poverty. President Joe Biden has never publicly acknowledged his granddaughter’s existence and has repeatedly talked about his granddaughter while ignoring her. White House press secretary Carine Jean-Pierre also declined to comment on why the Navy’s Joan Roberts is not mentioned.
