Kari Lake campaign files lawsuit against Maricopa County officials over election

Phoenix (3TV/CBS 5) – Kari Lake’s campaign filed a lawsuit on Wednesday, requesting voter documents from Maricopa County officials related to this month’s general election. In her lawsuit, her campaign raised a printer issue that affected dozens of polling sites in Maricopa County on Election Day, and people who tried to vote but were unable or unable to go to another polling place. We want all public records related to voters who had to. Voter name and contact information. The campaign committee also needs records of people attempting to check-in at two different vote centers and documentation of ballots marked with 22nd legislature senatorial candidates.

Lake’s campaign claims to have received most of the official documents it requested, with the exception of two.

of. “All pre-Election Day communications between or among county employees, agents, and vendors regarding matters relating to counting or printing ballots at vote centers.”

b. “All public records relating to recounts of votes cast in person at Vote Centers due to mixing and/or coordination issues.”

Officials in Arizona and Maricopa County have repeatedly said all ballots were tallied and voters who encountered problems were given another chance to vote. Maricopa County reporter Steven Richer and Maricopa County Oversight Board chairman Bill Gates, both Republicans, said Lake had lost to Democrat Katie Hobbs in her bid to become Arizona’s next governor. Lake’s campaign has focused on unsubstantiated allegations of voter fraud used by former President Donald Trump. The Arizona family has reached out to Maricopa County for action on the lawsuit.

Republican Attorney General Candidate Abe Hamadeh also filed a lawsuit this week, alleging the election was mishandled. Unlike Lake, who focused on Maricopa County, he sued all 15 of his county registrars in the state, as well as Secretary of State Hobbes.
