(CN) — Republican candidate Kari Lake, who lost her bid to be governor of Arizona, this week obtained public records from Arizona’s most populous county to ensure all legal votes were properly cast. I appealed to make sure that it was counted.

Her political committee, Lake Kari of Arizona, said: Complaint On Wednesday, about half of the polling places in Maricopa County, including Phoenix, had problems with their ballot printers, meaning ballots weren’t dark enough to be read by the counting machines.

Many pollsters tried to call the county hotline, but were unable to contact technical personnel in a timely manner to resolve the issue, and even if technical support was obtained, Polls were told they didn’t know how to fix the problem, Lake’s campaign claims.

“There was so much chaos that polling station officials were unable to see voters sending their ballots to the tabulators,” the commission said in its complaint. “Poll workers were pulled in so many different directions that one poll worker didn’t have time to mark the original ballot as ‘ruined’. ”

According to the complaint, many voters feared their votes would not be counted as a result of printer/counter problems. Additionally, poll observers saw a mixture of ballots and uncounted ballots in the same container at the end of the night, the commission claimed.

A representative for Maricopa County did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the lawsuit.

Lake’s commission has made two requests to Maricopa’s election commission for public records relating to the Nov. 8 election, but the commission claims it has not received anything yet. They said they needed the records before the county election canvas on Nov. 28 and he state canvas on Dec. 5.

Lake, a former TV news anchor endorsed by former President Donald Trump, lost the gubernatorial race to Democratic candidate Katie Hobbs but has so far refused to concede. He supports the far-right conspiracy theory that the presidential election was “stolen” from Trump.

Her commission claims “special measures relief to compel the prompt production of public records” and asks the county for a warrant to produce the requested records.

The committee is headed by Timothy A. La Sota of Phoenix.
