Maricopa County releases updated election results; 84,250 ballots still uncounted | Arizona News

PHOENIX (KVOA) — Maricopa County election officials have released the latest unofficial results for the 2024 general election.

The results show that 77.61% of eligible voters in the county cast a ballot. As of the latest update, 2,007,982 votes have been processed out of 2,587,197 registered voters eligible to vote.

The results reflect increased votes from some early votes cast on Election Day, adding approximately 13,149 votes to the total vote count.

But election officials warn there are still many ballots that have yet to be processed.

The current number of uncounted votes is estimated at 84,250, which includes votes in various stages of verification and processing.

Categories of uncounted votes

  1. Early votes pending processing: 52,000
These are ballots that have been received but are still being processed. They are waiting for signature verification or asking voters to resolve signature issues.

  2. Provisional ballot: 10,000
Provisional ballots are issued when there is a question about a voter’s eligibility. These ballots are typically cleared through inspection by election officials, and most are counted once eligibility is verified. Voters who cast a provisional ballot can check the status of their vote on the county’s election website.

  3. Ballots ready to be counted: 22,250
These ballots are stored in the tally vault, awaiting counting. This number may change as additional ballots are processed and provisional ballots are resolved.

The next round of results will be posted later this evening. Officials continue to encourage voters to check the Maricopa County Elections official website for the latest information.
