November General Election Brings Two-Page Ballot to Yavapai County Voters

While the weather is still warm and fall and the November general election may seem far away, election staff have been busy preparing, proofreading and printing 144 different ballots in preparation for the Nov. 5 general election.

Yavapai County voters will consider issues on the longest ballot in history in this year's general election. Yavapai County voters are expecting record turnout and two-page ballots, and election officials are preparing for longer than usual lines on Election Day. Voters are expected to wait an average of 20 minutes to cast their ballot at the polls.

In addition to the U.S. President and U.S. Senators, many state and local elections are also on the ballot. Congressional and legislative seats, school board elections, local tax proposals, judges, and numerous propositions go before voters.

Facts about the 2024 General Election Two-Page Ballot:

• Voters in Cottonwood City and parts of Wickenburg Town will receive the longest ballots in the 38-election season.
• There are 64 races on the ballot across all ballots, including 40 elected offices, three judges up for reappointment, 20 ballot measures and one recall election.
• The ballot will consist of two pages with the contests listed on the front and back of both pages.

• Make a plan. Avoid long lines on Election Day and take advantage of mail-in and early voting.
• Return both pages of your ballot.

Important Dates:

• Ballots will be sent to military personnel and citizens living overseas on September 21st.
• The deadline to register to vote for the November general election is Monday, October 7th.
• In-person early voting begins Wednesday, Oct. 9.
• Early ballots will be mailed out on Wednesday, October 9th.
• Sample ballots will be mailed by October 18 to households with voters not on the early voter list and will be available at each vote center on Election Day.
