Authorities are investigating the death of an incarcerated man who allegedly committed suicide at Camp Verde’s Yavapai County Jail.
Yavapai County spokesperson Christine Green said detention agents found the 21-year-old man unresponsive at a treatment facility while waiting to be assigned a bed. Deputies performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation while waiting for the man to arrive, but the man was eventually pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was sentenced to 180 days in prison on Jan. 5 after being arrested by Prescott Valley Police for robbery in September 2022, Green said. It said it was against county policy to identify
