Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday hit back at the Biden administration over Vice President Kamala Harris’ allegations that Florida is faking black history.
At a press conference, the governor defended the state’s black history education, arguing that the state teaches an accurate and balanced narrative of the nation’s past. (Related: NAACP issues travel warning for Florida)
“I mean, I thought it was absolutely ridiculous. It may have worked in the past, nobody buys their nonsense anymore,” DeSantis said.
The Florida governor hinted that the Biden administration has decided to focus on internal affairs in the state to divert attention from its alleged failures.
