Yuma — Yuma County Recorder Rick Colwell said officials are prepared for the high turnout expected in today’s election.

He said security at polling stations has been increased to protect the public, although no threats have been reported at this time.

Overall, Colwell doesn’t expect any major problems today.

The first set of results will be available to the public by 8 p.m. These results include all early votes counted and in-person votes received before Election Day.

The next set of results will be taken from the local Vote Center location where you enter the Vote Center and updated online until the ballot from the last location arrives.

Early and provisional ballots dropped off at voting centers on Election Day will be inspected at each polling place’s close, taken to central office, and forwarded to Voter Services staff for processing.

The estimated number of votes remaining to be processed will be reported with the final announcement of results on Election Day.
