Two prominent local Republicans have changed course for next year’s primary campaign.
Rep. Leo Biacicucci (Lake Havasu) of Distance 30 has submitted a letter of interest to the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office indicating his intention to seek another term for the Arizona House of Representatives.
Biacicucci planned to run for state senator while supporting the bid of Mojave County Supervisor Hildy Angius to succeed him in the state legislature. With Biagiucci’s decision to seek a final term in the House of Representatives, Bullhead City’s Angius switched gears to run for the constituency. His 30 state Senate seats held by Sonny Borrelli.
Lake Havasu City’s Borrelli, who had to leave the Senate due to term limits, declared himself a candidate for Mojave County Supervisor and seeks re-election for Third District’s Buster Johnson in the August 2024 Republican primary. has been set.
Kingman Republican John Gillette, along with Biacicucci, are seeking another term for the two dists. 30 seats.
At this point Monica Timberlake, Quartzite, is the only Democrat running for the 30th House of Representatives, and Kingman resident Jaime Morgane is the only Democrat running for the 30th Senate. I’m a Democrat.
