President Donald Trump announced Friday that some of his department of Education (ED) duties have been transferred to other institutions.
Student loans are “quickly” processed by Small Business Management (SBA), but special needs and nutrition programs will be transferred to the Presidential Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). I said At the press event on Friday. The redistribution comes after Trump signed an executive order on Thursday to begin demolition of Ed.
“I think it’s going to work very well,” Trump said. “These two elements will be taken from the Ministry of Education.”

“What we have to do is ensure that students get guidance from people who love them and take care of them, including their parents,” continued President Trump.
The decision to begin abolishing the education sector is part of a greater effort to bring educational decisions back to state, local governments and parents. Thursday order Newly confirmed Education Secretary Linda McMahon said, “We will take all necessary steps to promote the Department of Education’s closure to the fullest extent appropriate and permitted by law, and will return our authority to education to the state and the community.”
Opposition to the Federal Department of Education comes from the failure of the institution to fulfill its intended mission, namely the academic success of students.
Student test scores reached some of the lowest levels ever recorded in the United States, according to a January report from the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).
Part of the failures in the department can lead to focusing on issues of social justice rather than education. Under the Biden administration, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has poured over $100,000,000 into K-12 school DEI efforts, aiming for a funding project aimed at “LGBTQ inclusion” that has “an embedded anti-racial and anti-attacks.” (Related: Biden’s education division spent more than $100,000,000 on DEI, a K-12 social worker.)
Trump quickly attempted to remove many radical topics from schools that were launched, and signed a series of executive orders banning key racial theories, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and gender ideology from federally funded schools.
The White House, Ed, SBA, and HHS did not respond to requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
