As the November 2024 presidential election approaches, former President Donald Trump's campaign reported raising more than $160 million in total in September alone.
The influx of funds resulted from a joint effort by Trump's official campaign, joint fundraising committee, and Republican National Committee. According to To Politico. Approximately 96% of these donations were less than $200, with an average monthly contribution of about $60, increasing the campaign's coffers to a cumulative $283 million in preparation for the election.
“President Trump continues to inspire millions of Americans to join the America First movement and advance his campaign with their hard-earned funds. In September, donations of less than $200 2.5 million,” Trump campaign senior adviser Brian Hughes said in a statement, Politico reported.

Donations since September have increased slightly from the previous month, with the Trump campaign announcing on September 4 that it had secured about $130 million in donations through August. August's total is slightly lower than the $140 million raised in July after the July 13 assassination attempt, but rival Vice President Kamala Harris raised $361 million in August. Politico said.
The coalition opposed to Trump's candidacy, Republican Voters Against Trump, has also raised more than $35 million to support Harris in the upcoming November election. Spearheaded by conservative strategist Sarah Longwell and featuring notable figures such as Bill Kristol and Tim Miller, the group is focused on key battleground races including Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District. Trump's current fundraising trajectory also falls short of his 2020 campaign results, Politico noted. During the 2020 campaign, his campaign worked with the Republican National Committee to raise $247.8 million in September alone.
