Trump DOJ’s violent crime crackdown is ‘night and day’ from Biden admin’s approach, state AGs say

WASHINGTON – Seven Republican state attorney generals thanked the Trump administration Friday for their commitment to help the state prosecute violent crimes.

The Attorney General, who is set to join President Donald Trump for his remarks at the Department of Justice (DOJ) this afternoon, said improvements are already being seen in the areas of public safety and immigration enforcement that have been ignored under the Biden administration.

“I’ve received more calls from the Department of Justice about how we can work together and work together in the first 30 days as Attorney General,” said Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyarez.

“The difference between daylight and daylight we saw at this Department of Justice takes these cross-border gangs seriously, take the fentanyl tragedy seriously and chases the cartel,” Miyares said. “I know the outcome will be different.”

The Biden administration said it was “interested in parents at school board meetings and at churches,” according to Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall.

“We’ve already seen specific differences at the border regarding fentanyl that’s past our entrance,” Marshall said. “I know that in Alabama, fentanyl is more expensive, so we do better jobs across the country to stop cartels and stop supply, but there’s still important work.”

Since Trump took office, there have been “dozens of attacks” detaining dozens of criminally unlawful foreigners in Florida, Attorney General James Usmier said. (Related: Exclusive: Red State AG urges Trump DOJ to investigate who actually runs the country under Biden)

“Most of these individuals we found have come and gone in and out of the criminal justice system many times, and the federal government under the Biden administration has put them free,” he said. “It’s stopped now.”

Still, the state continues to fight the effects of “remaining from previous administration policies,” said South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson.

“About two months ago, America blocked the boat hole, but the water is still on the boat,” he said.

Some lawyers mention that their state law enforcement is taking advantage of Trump administration reforms to ICE 287(g) programacting on the role of a federal immigration officer.

“These local law enforcement agencies are now detained and can remove those individuals from their respective states and hand them over to the ice,” Wilson said. “This partnership was something I was told, it had disappeared, it had been made unfeasible and out of control. And it was an invalid partnership and I hadn’t even considered joining for the past four or five years.”

In response to questions from the Daily Coller News Foundation, Wilson said his state is committed to defending Trump’s executive order on “protecting children from chemical and genital mutilation.” Law Transgender procedures for minors are prohibited.

“As state attorney general, we have an obligation to defend these laws and to defend the rights of citizens protected from that kind of Wacco science,” he said.

He was present with Republican Attorney General of Alabama, Florida, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Virginia and West Virginia and Associate Kentucky Attorney General Rob Duncan.
