Trump, Not Biden, Should Pardon Hunter

I wrote long ago that then-presidential candidate Donald Trump should pledge to pardon Hunter Biden for campaign strategic reasons. Now, he really should.

The most obvious calculation here is that Trump positions himself as unified commander in chief. However, it’s not that simple. President Joe Biden could at any time announce a pardon for Hunter himself. But there are reasons both men agree that Trump will do it.

Forget the Democrats who are hell-bent on destroying him. For Trump, pardoning Hunter would be an olive branch to brainwashed Democrats voters He actually intends to be a president for all Americans. Please remember. The story at the time was that Hunter himself was a political target and that if his father had not been president, he would not have been prosecuted, or at least not pursued as aggressively. Yes, this was a cynical stance by the partisan media, but many suckers supported it. And there’s a bit of truth to this. (Click here to watch “Cleaning Kamala”)

I am not defending the actions of the so-called Biden crime family. But regardless of how true the accusations of spreading foreign influence are, this kind of behavior is commonplace in the swamp that is D.C. If we locked up all the politicians who sold influence overseas Then there would be no one left to run the country. Biden, if he were just an old-school Democrat (or really an Establishment Republican), would have continued to do whatever he was trying to do under the radar. But once he ran for president, he clearly became an easy target, and Hunter later became involved in a shady scheme that his father probably actually directed him to participate in. In the end, the surveillance became so great that Hunter was charged with tax and gun charges, which were actually very minor in nature and would probably never have come to light otherwise. It probably wouldn’t have come out.

There are good reasons why we should crack down on the out-of-control ditches in our swamps. But that doesn’t happen overnight, and it certainly won’t happen by indicting some poor scumbag who was washed up on unrelated charges. In this case, the recognition that the legal issues, whether real or perceived, must end would be of greater benefit to both President Trump and the country. .

But why should Biden follow suit?

The simple reason is that everything he left behind as his legacy can be preserved. Does Biden really want to be the swamp that everyone says he is, pardoning his shady son as soon as it’s politically expedient? That probably doesn’t bode well for Democrats, who live with the cloud of years of cover-ups hanging over their heads. It is in Biden’s own best interest to make Trump a hero here.

What’s more, the legal battle against Trump is nearing an end anyway, as Jack Smith is reportedly winding down the suit. Democrats sometimes cling to the idea that they were right all along and argue vehemently that they were simply betrayed on Election Day. Or they can get ahead of the story and accept that this inevitable outcome is the right thing to do. They are also willing to lay down their weapons.

We find ourselves in a perfect political moment, where both sides are motivated to extend an olive branch to each other and tacitly accept a mechanism of mutually assured destruction that will bring an end to this unfortunate era of American law. I’m welcoming you. Can the Democratic Party survive with Trump seen as the ultimate unifier? Probably not. Biden will likely only pardon Hunter before he leaves office. But it would be a missed opportunity for him, his party, and the American people.
