Yuma County Prepares for Special Primary Election

A special primary election is scheduled for July 15, 2025, and local officials are gearing up for the process. Here’s a rundown of what residents can anticipate on election day and in the immediate aftermath.

Tuesday – July 15, 2025 – Election Day

  • The first round of results will be available at 8 PM, showcasing all early and in-person votes cast before election day. After this point, updates will come from Voting Centers. Results will continue to roll in until the last location’s vote is counted.
  • Audits will take place for early voting and provisional ballots as each location closes. These will be delivered to the main office and managed by the Yuma County Recorder’s voter service team for processing.
  • The final count of remaining votes will be included in the last update on election night.

Wednesday – July 16, 2025 – Post-election Day

  • After the election, Yuma County Recorder Voter Services will begin auditing the electronic polling data from Election Day along with any early voting submissions.
  • Processing for interim voting from all Voting Centers will also commence.
  • Confirmed mail-in votes received on Election Day will be transferred to Election Services.

Saturday, July 19, 2025

  • Hand counting of votes will start at 9 AM, aiming to verify the accuracy of the electronic counts through limited audits.

Sunday – July 20, 2025 at 5 PM

This marks the final day for confirming provisional votes and finalizing early voting affidavits.

Monday – July 21 – July 24, 2025

  • Results will be incrementally posted as they are finalized.

Thursday, July 24, 2025

  • A post-election logic and accuracy test will be conducted.

Friday, July 25, 2025

  • The Yuma County Board of Supervisors will convene at 9 AM to canvas the election results.
