YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Yuma County is currently working with the City of Yuma to develop ways to help local residents navigate the permit review process more effectively and efficiently.
Craig Sellers, Yuma County's director of development services, said there are already some areas the county says could be improved.
“So we're looking at flexibility, efficiency and communication with applicants and builders in the area,” Yuma County Development Services Director Craig Sellers said.
Counties can take anywhere from a few minutes to up to 60 days to issue permits, and sellers have shared what they hope to accomplish by speeding up the process.
He added that community input is also needed to improve the process.
“It's about reaching out to the community and listening to their input, educating them on what we have to offer, and then finally continually reviewing our process,” Yuma County Development Services Director Craig Sellers said.
